As we approach the end of the year, it seemed right to take a look back on the year and think about all that has happened since we started in April 2025.
Committee
Firstly, a few of the members decided to step up and give a bit more of their time to the club. You can find out more information here.
Equipment
We have invested in a lot of new and refurbished equipment for the club, totaling over 400k MUR.
- 9 new BCs (Beuchat 1DIVE)
- 6 new regulators (Beuchat V-First)
- 16 cylinders (4x Aluminium, 12x Steel), all hydrostatically tested
- 6 Mares Puck 4 dive computers
- Approximately 40 kg of lead weights
- 5 weightbelts
- O2 regulator, cylinder, masks and carry case
- First Aid Kit
- O2 analyzer
- GPS
- A-Flag!
We will look to start selling some of the dive equipment this year as it is used over time, and replace them with new items.
We have ongoing partnerships with Yannick (10-25% off Beuchat Equipment) and Hemisph’air (10-15% off Scubapro Equipment).
Volunteering
Members have been involved in many projects across Mauritius:
- Seagrass Restoration (Reef Conservation)
- Coral Spawning Monitoring (SECORE)
- Turtle Monitoring (Attitude Foundation)
- Beach Clean Ups (including at Flat Island with TopCat)

Recreational Diving
We have been diving all around Mauritius and completed almost 50 separate dives, with an average of 6 members attending each dive.
Most dives were shallow (20m or less) with a few deeper ones, ensuring all of our members were able to dive frequently.
Diving was centered around Trou-aux-Biches, Flic en Flac and Balaclava with a few dives at Coin de Mire and Belle Mare.
We are looking forward in 2026 to adding at least 3 new boats for club access, opening up new areas of the sea to explore around Mauritius!
Expect more advanced training and rescue management to be delivered to club members in the new year, to encourage more members to plan and run dives as well as ensuring the safety of all members.
Website, App and Online Presence
We spent approximately 3 months developing our DiveVerse application for mobile devices, allowing setting up and booking of diving activities for the club. Many thanks to Ridwaan – drop him a message if you’re looking for an amazing app developer!
In 2026 we’ll be expanding the app to including other features and launching the app as a service for other clubs.
We also launched our website, new logo (thanks Melissa!), plus our Wiki where we welcome contributions to course designs and information on running diving clubs.
Training & Professional Services
We have worked in partnership with Reef Conservation to level up their staff, including in areas of Safety.
Going forward, we look forward to welcoming new trainees into the fold of SCUBA diving, and are exploring professional services that the club can offer.
